A little bit about
myself
I was born and raised

As a child I traveled with my parents to
many places such as
At 16, my family moved from
work. This was a great change, adjusting
to a new school and culture,
but also extremely exciting. I lived for 2

Then it came time for college, and I
ventured to the
there. During this time I met my future
husband, and ended up settling
here. I graduated with a degree in Art and
Spanish, spending a

All the traveling and exposure to other
cultures have influenced my art, and I love to work all kinds of items into my
jewelry and other crafts. Strong colors and shapes appeal greatly to me, which
can be seen in what I make.
I have also had a great interest in the Indians
of the American plains my whole life. I love the geometric shapes in their
work, and have created many beaded pieces to be used with my complete American
Indian outfit.
Besides my jewelry making, I also
scrapbook, work with stained glass and weave baskets. Arts and crafts is a
great creative outlet for me and I hope you enjoy my work as much as I do. I
leave a little of myself in each piece, which is why I normally only make one
of each item.
This past year I have worked at the local
High School in Special Education, and get to spend time with special children
in the class rooms. One of these places have been the art classes, where I have
had the opportunity to get back into creating a variety of different pieces.
This has been a wonderful experience, and have got me back into working with
clay, as well as creating wooden sculptures. I just love when I have an opportunity
to let loose with all the ideas that roam around in my head. I will be adding
more pieces that I create besides jewelry, as they continue to grow into
reality.
Another passion of mine is horseback
riding. I always wanted to ride, and started lessons 3 years ago. I now own two
horses, and spend weekends in the summer showing in English classes. One of my
horses is a Tennessee Walking horse, I show her in Saddle Seat attire....which
I have sewn myself. Click here for more pictures of me and my
horse. There is nothing like spending a day in the saddle, and owning a Walking
horse is quite a privilege, as it is a wonderful experience to ride one. There
is just nothing like it. My other horse is a young Paint colt. He is a little
over 1 ½ years old now, and I have been with him since he was 5 hours old. It
is a lot of fun (and hard work) to train a young horse, but worth every minute
of it.
